A Conversation With Water, 2019-2020

My heritage is Cypriot and British, and in this series water is used as a metaphor for displacement and gender identity. My previous projects have engaged with people recovering from trauma. A Conversation with Water is a series of images of reflections in water of both landscapes and portraits. Throughout the work, water is used as a representation of a meditative state of mind celebrating the present moment and referencing the myth of Aphrodite, Hermes and their son, Hermaphroditus.
